A wild reinterpretation of the ’60s short-scale student classic, the Shawn Mendes Foundation Musicmaster stays true to the blueprint of the original model, all while adding in a bunch of special features to satisfy the Mendes hive mind.
Decked out with a custom floral motif finish designed by one of Mendes’ own fans, the Shawn Mendes Musicmaster also features a flower-reflected pickguard, while a slick gloss finish, nickel/chrome hardware and knurled flat-top knobs help put the cherry on top of what could be Fender’s most eye-catching release of 2020.
Fender have also fitted the Shawn Mendes Musicmaster with a Tex-Mex single-coil Stratocaster pickup in the bridge position of the guitar, while a Player Series humbucker occupies the neck position for a myriad of tonal combinations. A C-shaped maple neck and 24″ scale make it an absolute breeze to play, while its 22 fret maple fretboard promises to deliver a bright, spanky tone to cut through with chords and single note runs.
Elsewhere, the Shawn Mendes Foundation Musicmaster is topped off with push/pull coil-splitting pickups, a standard cast tuners, a synthetic bone nut, string-thru-body Strat hardtail bridge and six bent steel saddles. It’s also adorned with a Shawn Mendes Foundation custom neck-plate, making for a unique tribute to one of the biggest pop artists of our generation.
