It’s a pretty expansive collection that features an array of basses, guitars and acoustic instruments, covering a wide range of designs and specs to suit players of all styles.
In addition to some pretty gnarly looking hard rock/metal basses, LTD are launching updated TL acoustic basses; available in both four and five string configurations. They’re now being constructed from mahogany and feature spruce tops and roasted jatoba fretboards, while Fishman SONICORE preamps allow them to be plugged into a DI box or amplifier for some extra volume onstage.
There’s also the new D series of basses, which feature burled poplar tops and Black Natural Satin Burst finishes, and can be purchased in four, five and string string variants. These models are perfect for any genre or style, with their active ESP-designed pickups and three-band preamp ensuring you’ll be able to nail just about any tone under the sun.
In the six string department, there’s some pretty cool shapes in this new series, with the PS-1000 being a prime example. Available in Blue Sparkle and Vintage Black finishes, these semi-hollow models feature Seymour Duncan Phat Cat pickups, a set-thru three-piece maple neck and a Macassar ebony fretboard for a killer look and tone.
LTD have also bolstered their 1000 Series with new SN-1000HT and SN-1000FR models, which put a fresh spin on the Super Strat with their distinctive finishes and appointments.
In addition to a wild sand-blasted finish, these new guitars feature scalloped frets above the 17th fret as well as two different pickup and bridge configurations: the SN-1000HT has a Hipshot fixed bridge with Seymour Duncan Pegasus and Sentient pickups which can be coil-tapped, while the SN-1000FR boasts a Pegasus in the bridge and two Duncan Hot Strat single coils in the middle and neck position. This one also features a Floyd Rose locking tremolo.
Elsewhere, there’s also new LTD 200 models, as well as other additions to their LTD Deluxe series. ESP have warned that there’s still more models to come as well, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for some more newbies next month when NAMM arrives.
