Limited to a scant 50 models, and priced at US $8,666 (nice), the USA Kerry King V Limited Edition features a newly designed ‘Kerry King V’ shaped mahogany body, with a beveled maple top, Kahler KFK bridge, Floyd Rose R2 nut and Grover tuners to make this thing an absolute divebomb machine. There’s also a Sustainiac pickup in the neck position and an EMG 81 with PA2 Preamp Booster at the bridge, putting this instrument in a formidable territory of its own.
There’s also a Kerry King spec C-shape three-piece maple neck complemented with an ebony fretboard with 24 jumbo frets, which features pearl, stone and ebony custom inlays and fiber optic LED side dots to keep track of things while on dark stages. Dean have decked out the USA Kerry King V Limited Edition with a Black Satin finish with a Gloss Red Cross design and matching headstock – a very fitting combo for the Slayer guitarist.
Although it is ludicrously expensive, we reckon these guitars will be ultra-collectable in years to come, and it’s safe to say that it’s a pretty tidy investment for any Slayer mega fans out there. It’ll be interesting to see what else comes out of Dean’s partnership with Kerry, that’s for sure.
