In a statement circulated to the press today, the company have stated that Portland natives Kyle Sears and Brandon Rush, who both operate as recording studio owners and touring musicians, have purchased a majority stake in Catalinbread. The statement seems to laud the localised presence of both parties, highlighting both Sears and Rush as ‘progressively-minded gear aficionados’ and that through their “local roots, passion for gear, and well-established presence in the music industry, Kyle and Brandon are excited to take Catalinbread to the next level.”
The statement continues to affirm Sears and Rush’s vision for the brand, saying that “It is important to Kyle and Brandon that Catalinbread remains an innovative, hand-made, and locally-run pedal company. Their vision for Catalinbread’s creative future will work hand-in-hand with the mission of the company and its core values, including the search for vintage and esoteric pieces of gear, and outfitting them with modern engineering for ease of accessibility.”
Despite this change in ownership, it seems that it’s still all full steam ahead for Catalinbread Effects. The company are set to release the Giygas Fuzz pedal within the next two months, while an Epoch Boost is expected to arrive sometime this winter. They’ve also hinted at more new products arriving later this year, so I guess we’ll have to watch this space.
