Behringer’s Mysterious Polysynth Has Finally Been Given A Name

deepmind.jpg

In the fifth teaser video the name of the new synth is revealed; the Behringer DeepMind 12. The ‘12’ in the name is most likely a reference to the 12-voice polyphony, which we had confirmed a few videos ago, but the ‘DeepMind’ part… that’s anyone’s guess.

Also revealed in this video is the FX section of the synth, which shows the obligatorily-hyped demonstrator using chorus, rack amp, delay and hall reverb, seen on a small onboard screen. In the Facebook post releasing the video, Uli Behringer said, “the four world-class FX engines are powered by TC Electronic and Klark Teknik. Thank you for making this the ride of my life.”

There still remains the question of price, and with every teaser video the price seems to jump up with all the new features revealed. It will be interesting to see if the company has been able to stick to their promise of an affordable synth, and if not, how the synth fares in the densely populated mid-range price bracket. I guess only time will tell.
