The Learning Music site follows on from Ableton’s previous teaching aids, which includes the mini video series ‘One Thing’ that launched earlier this year. Completely free, this website gives a grassroots based approach through a range of lessons covering song structure, beats, notes, scales and basslines. Through it’s fully interactive approach, Learning Music gives users the ability to learn about how some of the biggest hits were written with real song examples such as Bob Marley’s ‘Get Up, Stand Up’, and Robert Hood’s ‘Ride’ to further demonstrate key concepts.
In addition, there is another section to the website called ‘The Playground’ giving users the option to use all of the techniques learnt through the lessons to create their own tracks with the ability to even export your finished products to Ableton’s Live software.
