TFS is a new project that combines the talents of Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin (The Drones) with High Tension’s Lauren Hammel, and Erica Dunn of Harmony and Palm Springs.
The video for ‘Chameleon Paint’ adopts the style of an arcade game as the problems of the world are exposed to illustrate the dissatisfaction with social media conveyed through the song’s lyrics.
“It feels like a turning point in history, as technology speeds up,” said Liddiard of the track. “The internet distorts reality and dehumanises relationships, and makes everyone crazy. It’s a bullshit, out of focus place where everyone is the worst version of themselves. Facebook and Instagram keep you glued to the screen, melt your brain and turn you into an idiot so they can sell shit to you. That’s the climate in my head; that’s why I write all this doom and gloom.”
‘Chameleon Paint/Mansion Family’ is out now via Mistletone Records.
