The Claypool Lennon Delirium announce second album, release new song

The superduo’s new record is entitled South of Reality, following up their suprising 2016 debut Monolith of Phobos, and features the retro psychedelia of their new single ‘Blood and Rockets’. The track is inspired by JPL rocket scientist Jack Parsons, according to Consequence of Sound. The LP is due for release on Friday February 22 via ATO records, and in true Lennon-Claypool fashion, is “fuelled by psychedelics”.

Lennon, 43, and Claypool, 55, are reportedly old friends, and told Rolling Stone they had created the record in the quick span of two months.

“Playing with Les is like knowing you’re gonna be playing tennis with Rafael Nadal – it makes you wanna brush up on a few things before you get on the court,” Lennon said.

South of Reality will be released Friday February 22 via ATO. In the meantime, become an expert on the gear of Les Claypool in our Gear Rundown.
