The new album, titled Bleeds, features collaborations with fresh British producer, Fred, and music heavyweights Four Tet, Adrian Sherwood and Switch’s new production team.
Its title represents the melding of genres that takes place within Manuva’s sonic creations, the convergence of everything from hip hop, to reggae, techno and neo-classical music.
Single ‘One Thing’ showcases his storytelling ability, a perceptive take on British culture spiked with a heavy dose of dub. A genre-defying work, in his own words the new album is deeply rooted in “the culture of Bass and Verb”.
Bleeds is out October 30 on Big Dada / Inertia.
