Taken from the well-received EP Cold Summers, ‘Size of Your Town’ gives a nod to the regional Victorian town of Ballarat, where the seed of an early Crepes incarnation was first planted.
The accompanying clip was filmed and directed by friend and fellow Ballarat local Reuben Schmidt. It features long lost footage of forgotten Ballarat ‘80s music icons The Teddyboys cut with a Crepes live performance that was filmed with an appropriately sketchy VHS camcorder. Hazy, reverb-drenched bliss is matched by grainy imagery, and it’s all done in good fun with the inclusion of Japanese karaoke subtitles for those inclined to have a sing-along.
Crepes will play shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane in support of the video release.
