Let It Bleed‘s 50th anniversary reissue boxset features a catalogue of memorabilia from the time of the albums release, including replicas of the ‘Honky Tonk Women’ / ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ 7″ single, an 80 page hardcover book featuring an essay by journalist sand former Rolling Stone senior editor David Fricke , as well as a poster, lithographs and unseen photos.
“No other rock & roll album of the late Sixties so embodied… the contradictions, turbulence of its time, creation and the band… than Let It Bleed,” David Fricke writes in the 50th Anniversary Limited Deluxe Edition book.
Fifty years on from the most influencial decade in music history, a bevy of album reissues are coming out or have already to take us back to the era of pop stars, drug experimentation and countercultural independence – its safe to say that the 60s live on.
Recent box sets include the Beatles’ Abbey Road, Jimi Hendrix’s Electric Ladyland and Woodstock ’69 all from the iconic year.
