Having first become known through his association with both the Doomtree collective and Rhymesayers Entertainment, P.O.S.’ unique blend of hardcore, punk and hip hop is eclectic to say the least. This is reflected in the guests revealed for the new album, which include Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill/The Julie Ruin), Justin Vernon and Busdriver.
The Minneapolis rapper has remained fairly quiet since a kidney transplant forced him to retreat from the spotlight in 2012. Chill, dummy was reportedly inspired by P.O.S.’ health troubles, as well as the social turmoil that has overtaken America in the time since his last album, the politically charged We Don’t Even Live Here.
Chill, dummy by P.O.S. will be released on January 27, with digital, vinyl, and CD options available to preorder from the Doomtree website right now.
