Dubbed the Enemy of the Night, the idea for the collection was spawned from wine fanatic and guitarist Josh Smith and features two wine which Crowbar described as “a perfect harmony of the light and shade Northlane write within their music”.
Made sustainably from Geelong grapes, the first wine, a Pinot Grigio, is a light, dry, polished wine with citrus acidity, while the second, a Shiraz, is a full-bodied wine, delivering layered flavours of dark red fruits, nutmeg and pepper.
“I’ve had a deep love affair with wines for as long as I can remember, and many guru friends have shown me the goods along the way,” Josh reveals. “One of them approached me about doing a collaboration for something else fresh we’ve been cooking up in the Northlane camp and it was an opportunity I couldn’t miss.”
The wines are available on the Crowbar website for $40 each, or both for $70.
The website also encourages purchasers to “hold on to your bottles until May 19 to scan the QR code”. The mysterious code was teased by the band earlier this week on an Instagram post caption. Speculation is rising that the code may lead to an unreleased track from the band’s latest studio album, ‘Alien’, or something else they’ve cooked up in quarantine.
