‘INXS: Live Baby Live’ 1991 Wembley performance to receive cinematic release

Following last year’s release of the Michael Hutchence documentary Mystify, fans will be fit and frothing at the news, especially after a decade of believing that the cans containing the 35mm film were mystifyingly lost.

The band’s manager, Chris M. Murphy, has now started the film restoration process after a successful and fruitful end to his 10-year search.

“Watching it back, Michael is better than even I thought he was – how he managed the stage. His voice became more powerful as the gig went along. It was extraordinary to watch – the crowd and band were as one”, Murphy said.

INXS lead guitarist Tim Farris remembered, “We were just six blokes from Australia that treated Wembley Stadium like just another pub gig.”

“We went in it with a PA and a few lights and played our asses off. No ego ramps, no back-up singers, no props, no grand pianos etc, just the six of us,” he said.

‘INXS: LIVE BABY LIVE’ will screen for one night only on Wednesday November 27, at select theatres.
