Phil Collins, Tony Banks and Mark Rutherford, key members of the band’s ’80s lineup, will return to the stage together under the Genesis name for the first time since their 2007 comeback shows. In an interesting twist, Collins’ own 18 year old son Nicholas will be assuming his old man’s role on the drumkit due to nerve damage sustained by Phil on the last Genesis tour.
In an interview with BBC Radio, Collins elaborated on the band’s reunion, saying “We all felt, ‘Why not? It sounds a bit of a lame reason – but we enjoy each other’s company, we enjoy playing together.”
Fingers crossed the fellas cross the ditch to Australia, hey?
