While the band usually work on an idea for a song together, guitarist Johnny Took says this particular track took on a different collaborative quality: “but for ‘Too Soon’ we each had a separate melody, which fit together effortlessly.” Mixed by Spike Stent (Massive Attack, Madonna, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) in LA, it’s coated with a glistening pop shine.
The talk of the town since they landed on the local alternative scene, DMA’S meteoric rise landed them shows at last year’s Lollapalooza, Groovin The Moo and Bonnaroo. Their next festival performances will be at next month’s St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, where they will be trying on their new album for size.
