Rose replaces Brian Johnson, who after 36 years in the band had to stop touring to save his hearing. He will play with the band on the final legs of the Rock or Bust World Tour in Europe and America. It’s a pairing which has delighted some and angered others, but it will no doubt be interesting to see how the two giants of rock work together, and if the result is ultimately positive or not.

Brian Johnson joined the band after the death of previous lead singer Bon Scott in 1980, and recorded Back In Black, which to this day is still their highest selling record. Rumours of Axl Rose joining the band swelled as Guns N’ Roses played cover of AC/DC’s songs ‘Riff Raff’ and ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ at Coachella on Saturday night with Angus Young joining them on stage.
