Fiitingly named The Heaven’s Door Distillery and Centre for the Arts, the venue will house a restaurant, a whiskey distiller and library, an art ‘sanctuary’, as well as a 360-seat performance site. Also featured will be a number of Dylan’s paintings and sculptures.
According to an Associated Press News release, the distilllery will be located at a transformed 160-year-old Elm St. church, and will produce liquor under the brand ‘Heaven’s Door’.
The opening of the distillery will coincide with the 50th anniversary of Dylan’s ninth album, Nashville Skyline, which included tracks ‘Girl from the North Country,’ a duet with Johnny Cash, and ‘Lay Lady Lay.’
