No No No is the fourth album from the group, and is a slight departure from the previous releases. Condon opted for simplicity on this album, and most of the songs are recorded with guitar, piano, bass and drums. This is significantly different from the extravagance of earlier albums where the horns section played a large role in the songs.
The album is released via 4AD, the record label where Condon launched his career, so this album serves as a homecoming of sorts. It was recorded in New York over two weeks, and is “Condon’s most vibrant and spirited release to date”.
Condon must be doing something right, because his fans include fellow stars such as Florence Welch, Adele, Debbie Harry (Blondie), Ellie Goulding, David Byrne (Talking Heads), Vance Joy and George Ezra.
