AC/DC confirm their return, tease new release PWR/UP

Following rumours of an announcement last week – and a very swiftly removed stuff-up from the AC/DC camp themselves – the legendary Aussie rockers have shared a new image of the group consisting of Rudd, Johnson, bassist Cliff Williams and Angus and Stevie Young on guitar.

Although the pictured lineup is the very same that played on the band’s last full-length, 2014’s Rock Or Bust, it’s been a rather tumultous time in the AC/DC camp since then. Phill Rudd left the group due to legal issues in 2014, while Johnson would step away from the band in 2016 due to hearing loss, with Guns ‘N Roses vocalist Axl Rose filling in vocals for the remainder of the band’s tour dates.

PWR/UP will also be the first AC/DC release following the death of founding member and legendary rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, who left the group in 2014 due to his struggles with dementia and passed away at the age of 64 in 2017.

While official details of exactly what the band are teasing are yet to be announced, at this stage, it’s fair to assume the band won’t be announcing tour dates any time soon. Whether it’s a new single or an album, however, we’ll be sure to keep you updated!
