If These Walls Could Sing will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the iconic studio.
Abbey Road Studios will be the subject of a new feature-length documentary directed by none other than Paul McCartney’s own daughter, Mary McCartney.
The documentary marks the first time the iconic studio has opened its doors to a film crew, and will be the showpiece of a 90th anniversary celebration kicking off in November.
Presented as the untold story of the studio, If These Walls Could Sing will feature an all-star cast of interviews from previous artists as well as a close exploration of the studio.
The documentary will be produced by Academy Award-winner John Battsek, with development of the being overseen by Universal Music U.K.’s Marc Robinson and Mercury Studios CEO Alice Webb, who will executive produce the project.
In a statement accompanying today’s announcement, McCartney reflected on the significance of the acclaimed studio to her own family, stating that “Some of my earliest memories as a young child come from time spent at Abbey Road.
“I’ve long wanted to tell the story of this historic place, and I couldn’t be collaborating with a better team than John and Mercury Studios to make this creative ambition a reality.”
