Founded back in the ’70s, Mackie has made quite a name for itself across the years as a leader in audio engineering, known among audio professionals for their power, performance, versatility, and sonic signature.
Babelson Founder Thomas Ceyhan said that the Mackie brand “has always been synonymous with creativity, great sound, and great value”. In reference to acquisition of Babelson Audio’s catalogue, “I can think of no better partner for bringing these great products to a broader audience”.
Mackie has built a name for itself as a driver of audio innovation and reliability, with their Onyx Series sitting as the “benchmark for legendary sonic performance”.
Existing Babelson plugin users don’t need to worry either, with a seamless transition planned.
Users will still have access to all previous purchases, with plans from Mackie to continue to support updates and new versions of existing Babelson plugins, in addition to introducing brand new plugins under the new acquisition.
Babelson’s plugins are compatible across all major DAW software, enabling versatility and range in production.

This acquisition will enable a much broader reach for Babelson’s highly acclaimed plugins, and provides new solutions for customers using DAW software.
In order to authorise Babelson plugins, users will first need to install the iLok License Manager, which can be downloaded for free from the iLok website.
