The artist-led movement calls on Australians to take control of their algorithms and champion homegrown talent during Ausmusic Month and beyond.
Thelma Plum and Keli Holiday are spearheading a new initiative to address a sobering statistic: less than 10% of music streamed by Australians comes from local artists. Launching today to coincide with Ausmusic Month, the #AUSIFY Your Algo campaign encourages music fans to actively seek out, stream and share Australian music—helping homegrown talent gain the visibility they deserve.

Led by artists for artists, the movement aims to fill algorithms with local sounds through simple everyday actions. Creating playlists, attending gigs, buying merch, sharing tracks on social media and requesting songs on radio all contribute to boosting the profile of Australian musicians across streaming platforms and feeds.
“Everyone knows how good Australian music is, and the more you explore it the more it gives back,” said 15-time ARIA nominee Thelma Plum. “This campaign is about reminding people how easy it is to discover and champion that, by simply choosing to search for those stories and making sure local artists get the attention they deserve.”
Keli Holiday, fresh from the success of his latest single “Dancing2”, added, “We have the power to change our personal algorithm and support great Aussie music—no matter the platform. Let’s get together to keep our Australian talent in the conversation and make local music impossible to be ignored.”
Running throughout November, the campaign will celebrate hundreds of Australian acts while rolling through the A-Z of local talent day by day. Radio stations, streaming platforms, venues, festivals and industry partners are backing the initiative to spread the message nationwide.
Tomorrow, Saturday 1 November, Keli Holiday and Ash McGregor will host an interactive Ausify The Aux pop-up along Bondi Beach Promenade from 8:30am, inviting the public to plug in and play their favourite Australian tracks.
