Brisbane’s annual music extravaganza BIGSOUND will return in October, taking over screens across Australia instead of Fortitude Valley’s live music venues with its first-ever free virtual event.
With the performance showcase and industry conference fast approaching, BIGSOUND has revealed the keynote speakers and music acts set to appear as part of this year’s event.
Shining a light on the hottest emerging acts in Australia right now, the BIGSOUND50 is a handpicked program of talented performers across a spectrum of genres. This year’s BIGSOUND50 features the likes of L-FRESH The LION, Jaguar Jonze, Dallas Woods, The Merindas, Memphis LK, Harper Bloom, Sycco, No Money Enterprise, BIRDZ and many more.
“When it became obvious that we wouldn’t be able to do anything physical this year, we came up with a whole new way of showcasing our BIGSOUND artists in 2020,” said co-programmer Dom Miller. “The BIGSOUND50 are the 50 artists BIGSOUND believes the world should be paying attention to in 2020 and beyond.”
BIGSOUND has also revealed the keynote speakers set to lead a range of discussions as part of the conference, dissecting topics such as The Future of Event Streaming, United Nations of The Music Industry Sh*tshow, Pay The Rent, Beyond the Bla(c)k Tile, and more.
The industry discussions will provide insights from the likes of Tim Urban, Dr Lou Bennet, Ecca Vandal, Mo’Ju, Kira Puru, ABC Radio’s Rhianna Patrick, radio NCI Canada’s Dave Mcleod and SGC Media’s Stephen Green.
They join previously announced keynote speakers such as Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, Kev Carmody, Tones And I, Amy Shark, and more.
BIGSOUND is happening on October 21-22. For the full program and more information, visit the BIGSOUND website. This story originally appeared on Beat Magazine.
