Occuring this year over the weekend of August 3 and 4 at Melbourne’s Caulfield Racecourse, last year’s Melbourne Guitar Show was a massive success on all fronts, with huge crowds of guitar hungry punters flocking to see all the best new products, demos and showcases from the likes of Albert Lee, Slowly Slowly, Diesel and more.
This year, the showcase is set to attract a star-studded list of performing artists, including US guitar sensations Keith Merrow and Dennis Jones and local talents Phil Manning, Ash Grunwald, Sarah McLeod, Lloyd Spiegel, Michael Dolce, Charlie Bedford, Shannon Bourne, Simon Hosford’s Fair Warning (performing Van Halen’s debut in its entirety) and many more.
In a statement heralding the release of the show, Melbourne Guitar Show organiser Rob Walker said “It’s exciting to see the show develop each year and add value to the live music industry. We are proud to present such a broad range and quality of guitars, amps and gear from the big brands to local artisans. And each year we get to put together a program of live music featuring the considerable talents of our guitar community. It’s a great weekend for anyone into music, particularly guitars.”
Ticket pricing starts at $10 for a concession day pass, and go on sale from Friday June 7. If you’re a budding shredder, a devout bass slapper or even just a bluesy dad, you won’t want to miss out on this one.
