Here’s A Comprehensive List Of All Your 2019 ARIA Award Winners

‘Dance Monkey’s numbers speak for themselves, as the song became the ARIA’s longest running #1 ever and the first Aussie hit to become the most streamed song worldwide. In her acceptance speech Toni Watson said, “the most important thing I haven’t said yet is [thank you to] all those people who came past and supported me while I was busking and let me keep doing that and not having to get a job and made sure I had food in my belly”. In 2018, Watson was busking in the streets of Melbourne and Byron Bay.

Meanwhile, fresh off their quad-haul of awards at last week’s Music Victoria Awards, The Teskey Brothers were in the action again, not only nabbing the nods for best group and best blues & roots album, but brother Sam won the engineer of the year award for their work on Run Home Slow.

Other notable winners include Northlane who took home the contested best hard rock/heavy metal award for Alien, ahead of competition from Clowns, Dead Letter Circus, DZ Deathrays and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard. Dean Lewis doubled up with wins for best male artist and album of the year for A Place We Knew, Sampa The Great won best hip hop release for Final Form, and Kaiit picked up best soul & R&B release.

There were also wins for Paul Kelly, albeit for his classical album in collaboration with James Ledger, Guy Sebastian, his ‘Choir’ winning song of the year, and Taylor Swift, for best international artist. Check out the full winners list below:
