The German progressive metal guitarist is set to demonstrate his explosive technique and custom Ibanez signature guitar across four Australian cities this month.

Manuel Gardner Fernandes is heading to Australia for a run of intimate guitar clinics hosted by Ibanez. The German guitarist has made a name for himself by blending metal aggression with percussive playing and experimental sounds, and will be offering players a rare chance to see his technical approach up close.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

Attendees can expect live demonstrations of Manuel’s signature techniques, including his distinctive use of dead-note textures and complex lead work. The clinics will also cover his tone-crafting process and songwriting methods, with dedicated Q&A sessions for questions about gear, practice routines and creative inspiration.

Manuel began playing guitar at age three and has since established himself as a prominent figure in modern progressive metal. His playing combines speed with intricate rhythmic patterns and cinematic soundscapes. This style has earned him recognition beyond traditional metal circles.

He’ll be showcasing his signature Ibanez MGFM10, a custom-built instrument designed specifically for his high-speed, high-precision approach. The guitar features slanted frets, a Parallel Wizard three-piece neck, custom humbuckers, and Ibanez’s latest hardware innovations, all engineered to handle the demands of his technical style.

Tour Dates:

24 November: Billy Hyde Music Nunawading, Victoria
25 November: Big Music School & Studios, New South Wales
27 November: The Presynct, Queensland
1 December: TBC, Perth

Spaces are limited for these sessions, so if you’re a guitarist in the progressive metal and experimental tones space, or want to experience his craft up close, get in quick.
