The Marrickville photography and videography studio Good Loco is offering complimentary bookings and career guidance to independent artists throughout November for the fourth consecutive year.

Good Loco is back with their annual Australian Music Month initiative, and this time they’re giving independent artists free access to their fully equipped Bulanaming/Marrickville studio throughout November, complete with a career consultation from their senior management team.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

It’s the fourth year running for this offering, and the studio – operated by photography and videography company Good Loco alongside music services company Good Intent – has refined the approach based on what works. After running these sessions last year, they saw the real value in pairing studio time with post-shoot consultations where Rob Carroll, Nick Moran, and Rick Bridgman sit down with artists to discuss their trajectory and what comes next.

“All we want is to see Australian acts and their music at the top,” says Bridgman, “and we hope that with this small offering of our space, time and knowledge, that it will help independent artists along on that journey.”

The studio itself is serious gear. One of the largest cycloramas in Sydney’s inner west, it’s stacked with diverse lighting options, a vocal booth, make-up and dressing facilities, props, green room, kitchen, and bar. Artists can either bring their own camera operator or Good Loco can connect them with someone from their photographer and videographer network.

Booking is straightforward. Head to Good Loco’s Aus Music Month page, register your interest, input your preferred dates, and the team will confirm available sessions. The weekday slots are available throughout November, and terms and conditions apply.

Good Intent also runs the Greater Good Initiative, a fifth-year program that gives over $30,000 back to one independent artist annually. They work with management clients including Bootleg Rascal, Close Counters, and FANGZ, handle bookings for venues like The Lansdowne Hotel and The Troc, and count artists like Akon, Aloe Blacc, Chromeo, Crowded House, and La Roux among their PR roster.
