This fourth combined work between Gibson and their first female global ambassador is built for heavy music, after two years of testing with Hale at the Gibson Lab and on stage with Halestorm.
A stylistic amalgamation of an Explorer body and neck with a Firebird headstock, this guitar is the first of its kind. Crafted with a mahogany body, and single ply black binding on the fretboard, the Explorerbird is finished with gloss nitrocellulose lacquer and a Cardinal Red colourway.
The Firebird neck is also crafted with mahogany, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. With Gold Medium Jumbo frets and Gold Acrylic Dot inlays, the theme of gold runs through to the finish on the Explorerbird’s hardware. Additionally, the neck and bridge pickups are ’70s Tribute with gold screws and rods.
For Lzzy Hale, this guitar brings “two iconic worlds together” like “lipstick and leather”.
“This guitar is a statement and celebration of owning what makes you stand out. Because no one has ever made history by playing it safe”.
The guitar’s release coincides with Halestorm’s new single, ‘The Steeple’, off their new album Back From The Dead, becoming the group’s second consecutive #1 on rock radio.
The Gibson Lzzy Hale Explorerbird is now available worldwide.
