This master built, bespoke guitar is a meticulously crafted replica of Frusciante’s beloved 1962 sunburst Strat® that has been seen on stages and stadiums across the world. Among the ranks of rock and roll’s most recognisable guitars, this Stratocaster® showcases the true beauty of a road worn instrument—chipped paint, aged lacquer and rich imperfections dominate the body of this Stratocaster®, all of which were replicated by Senior Masterbuilder, Paul Waller. John Frusciante, who joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1988, became popular for his unmistakable tone. His 1962 Sunburst Stratocaster® became his signature guitar over three decades. Fender Custom Shop’s Senior Masterbuilder, Paul Waller, meticulously recreated this iconic instrument, replicating its aged lacquer, worn body, and all its dings and dents, offering players an authentic piece of rock history.
