The new ultra-low noise field recorder features 4 Midas preamps, 32-bit float recording, and wireless remote control, with an optional I/O extender for expanded connectivity.
Field recording for video production just got more accessible. Behringer has released the FLOW 4V field recorder alongside the FLOW 4VIO StageConnect I/O extender, both now available in Australia through Australis Music Group.
Built for modern video production, the FLOW 4V features 4 Midas microphone preamps with phantom power and dual-stage A/D converters delivering 138 dB dynamic range. You can record across 10 channels to SD cards or via USB, with options for 32-bit float or 24-bit fixed point.

Dual-stage conversion means no analogue gain setting needed during recording. Float recordings let you adjust gain in post-processing instead, taking the stress out of getting levels perfect on location. Anyone who’s scrambled to adjust gain during a critical interview knows how valuable this is.
An 8-channel mixer sits inside with level, pan, low-cut, tone, high-cut and dynamics controls. Up to 8 channels of automixing work with a smooth gain-sharing algorithm, whilst a pre-record buffer captures those unexpected moments that happen before you hit record.
Recordings to SD card automatically copy to an attached USB stick after stopping, giving you instant backup without risking lost files. StageConnect handles multi-channel uncompressed audio transmission at sub-millisecond latency using standard XLR/DMX cable. Internal SMPTE timecode generation syncs with other devices, and wireless remote control is built in.
Optional FLOW 4VIO extender adds 4 more microphone preamps with dual-stage A/D converters, 2 headphone outputs with separate level controls, and works as a USB Audio/MIDI interface. StageConnect transmission runs at sub-millisecond latency with 24-bit uncompressed audio at 44.1/48 kHz via standard XLR cable.
Remote power for a connected FLOW 4V comes through a single XLR cable, which simplifies setup considerably. Standalone operation as a 4 x 4 channel USB audio interface is also possible, or connect it to a Behringer WING StageConnect port for I/O extension. Power comes via USB-C with an included adaptor, or via XLR StageConnect from compatible devices.
Both units are available now through australismusicgroup.com.au.
