More than a decade after the original, AlphaTheta's next-generation effector combines dynamic sound control with advanced effects and an enhanced sampler for creative live performances.

AlphaTheta has finally pulled the curtain back on the RMX-IGNITE, the long-awaited successor to the RMX-1000 that’s been a staple in DJ booths worldwide since 2012. This completely redesigned effector represents a significant step forward, with new features designed to expand creative possibilities for DJs looking to combine expressive sound control with engaging visual performances.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

The RMX-IGNITE’s 3-Band FX section gives you two ways to shape your sound: Lever FX and Isolate FX. Three large levers let you instantly slam in effects like Echo, Reverb, Juggle, Reverse, Solo, and Stretch for immediate impact. Three large knobs control smoother, more gradual effects including Tape Echo, Reverb, Drive, Filter, Ducker, and Rhythm. You can apply these to highs, mids, and lows independently, mixing up to six effects at once. Extra knobs let you fine-tune each effect to match your set’s vibe.

On the sampling side, you get 20 ready-to-use sounds from Loopcloud, or load your own via USB. Four backlit trigger pads make it easy to drop samples mid-set, and Overdub mode lets you record and loop one-bar phrases, stacking sounds to build tension. Sample Roll gives you 10 rhythmic patterns, while the new Groove Roll creates flowing, accented variations when you press multiple buttons—great for ramping up energy before a drop.

Six Sampler Colour FX (Echo, Space, Filter, Pitch, Decay, Swing) work separately from your main effects, so you can manipulate samples without touching what’s happening on the track. A dedicated Release Echo button brings everything back to the original track smoothly with an echo tail, or cuts the sound entirely for dramatic breaks.

Sound quality is a major upgrade from the RMX-1000, thanks to 96 kHz/64-bit processing and high-grade converters from ESS Technology. AlphaTheta designed it with flat tuning to keep your music sounding natural, even with heavy processing.

PRO DJ LINK keeps everything in sync with your CDJs, while digital send/return connections with the DJM-A9 and DJM-V10 mixers mean you only need one USB cable for setup. A colour display shows all your key info—effects settings, samples, BPM, and levels—so you can stay focused on the mix.

Register your RMX-IGNITE and you’ll get three months of free Loopcloud access thrown in.
