MkIII boasts an impressive 14 hours of battery life according to Akai, while also being equipped with an upgraded speaker capable of an increased output and low-end response.

The 25-note keybed features their new Gen 2 keybed that delivers “dynamic performances and accurate velocity response with a feel that players will certainly appreciate”.

The eight drum pads have also been upgraded to velocity-sensitive MPC drum pads, offering optimal feel and response, ensuring the 128 onboard sounds and drum kits can be fully-optimised.

Four assignable rotary encoders offer versatile control of MIDI parameters, a joystick assists with display navigation, while there is also a built-in arpeggiator, and a ‘Note Repeat’ feature from Akai’s classic MPCs.

The MkIII’s back panel contains a USB Type B port for DAWs, a headphone output jack, and a quarter-inch jack for a sustain pedal.

“Musical inspiration can happen anywhere and MPK mini Play MkIII is the perfect portable companion to capture those melodies and harmonies, anytime and anywhere,” Akai said.

The MPK Mini Play MkIII is set to be available soon.
