Show & Tell: Andrew Stevens from DVSR

What piece of equipment do you have to show us today?
My Ibanez RGIB6 guitar loaded with Bare Knuckle Blackhawk pickups.

How did you come across this particular item?
When recording our debut album D.V.S.R. Our producer Chris Blancato came across one and specifically bought it for the recording of that album.

What is it that you like about it so much?
This guitar has a 28″ scale length, which is perfect for our low tuning of F and has one of the nicest, fastest necks I have played in a long time.

How do you use it and how has it shaped the way you write music?
Originally I was using a seven-string ESP to write our music, although I always enjoyed the feel of a six-string guitar more. Because of this, I tune RGIB6 as if it was a seven-string, skipping the third string. With its huge scale length, it allows me to use thinner strings (whilst holding tension) to achieve a much clearer and brighter low F.

Tell us a little about what you have coming up?
We have just released our new seven track EP Therapy and will be looking to embark on a nationwide tour early next year.

Therapy is available now on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.
