Amber Farnan
For fans of: Vance Joy, Missy Higgins
If you’re a fan of laid-back acoustic vibes, Amber Farnan is the choice for you. Her upbeat but heartfelt music will remind you of acts like Gretta Ray and Thelma Plum. She’s also already getting some pretty high-profile fans out there, having recently worked with acts such as Jack River.

Ex-Olympian
For fans of: The Avalanches, BADBADNOTGOOD
You’ll get lost in the music of Ex-Olympian. Frontman Liam McGorry has worked with acts like Saskwatch and Dorsal Fins, so he knows how to write a great song. The group’s latest single ‘Voices In My Head’ is such a euphoric jam that your replay button will get worn out way too fast.

Emerson Leif
For fans of: Milky Chance, The Internet
Hailing from up in sunny Queensland, Emerson Leif is one to keep your eye on. His music could be best described as electro-soul, and it’s perfect for those warm Sunday afternoons inside, kicking back with a beer and remniscing about when life used to be normal.

Saint Lane
For fans of: Post Malone, Kanye West
After a recent stint supporting Lime Cordiale, Saint Lane is getting a heap of well-earned attention, and we’re here for it. But his music is pretty far from that of the Lime boys breezy sounds – ‘Dusty’, for instance, could easily sit next to the works of Kanye and Post Malone.

Robert Jeffery
For fans of: The Beatles, The Beach Boys
When you’re feeling a little nostalgic, chuck on Robert Jeffery. His music will remind you of the days of the milkmen, it’s definitely influenced by the early rock ‘n roll wave of the early ’60s, but delivers a much more crisp, modern production to make it all the more easy on the years.

Two Rivers
For fans of: The War on Drugs, Future Islands
This group’s music is beautiful – it’s the kind of music you’d expect to hear in an arthouse movie, it’s just so hauntingly cinematic. Two Rivers haven’t been around for a long time, but they certainly sound like seasoned musicians, and we can’t wait to hear what else they’ve got waiting for us. The seven minute masterpiece ‘Semblance’ is definitely a worthy contender for a new addition to your playlist.

Huck Hastings
For fans of: Courtney Barnett, Better Oblivion Community Centre
Huck sings from the heart. His music is based on some harsh experiences he’s faced in life, but he brings it together into music that appeals to everyone. He’s been getting lots of recent attention on community radio, and has previously won FBi Radio’s independent artist of the week, so we’re expecting a bit of a glow up to happen sooner or later here.

Murmurmur
For fans of: Holy Holy, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
Murmurmur are gaining a heap of traction, so we’d urge you to get on them now before they become a household name. They’re getting a lot of well-deserved attention of Triple J with their unique brand of psychedelic rock, and could very well be the next in line to Melbourne’s psych throne. Prepared to be blown away when you check out their track ‘Marmalade’

VACATIONS
For fans of: The Wombats, The Killers
Listening to this group is the closest thing we will get to going a vacation right now. Their interesting contrast of early ’80s new wave instrumentation with modern sounds and songwriting makes for some pretty intriguing music, and delivers a much-needed dose of nostalgia for when you need it most.

Yergurl
For fans of: Mallrat, Charli XCX
Yergurl is already destined to go far in the industry – her music sounds like that of someone who’s been around for years. Making beats in her bedroom has led her to become a Triple J Unearthed finalist in 2018, and subsequent releases have showed her her amazing vocal talent and some overwhelmingly fun dream-pop inspired production.
