Sabian has introduced Solar, a new cymbal range crafted from advanced nano-plated stainless steel, aimed squarely at new and developing drummers looking for durability and a clear musical tone without the price tag of a professional set.
The Canadian cymbal maker has built its reputation over more than four decades on bronze cymbals favoured by professional and touring drummers, so a nano-plated stainless steel entry point marks a notable move into more accessible territory. Stainless steel construction tends to offer a brighter, more consistent tone straight out of the box along with added resistance to wear, making it a practical fit for beginners who need gear that can handle inconsistent technique and heavy practice hours while they develop their playing. It also allows Sabian to hit a considerably lower price point than its higher-end bronze lines, without asking new players to compromise on the brand’s usual attention to tone and build quality.

The range arrives in three configurations: the First Pack, covering the essentials with 14″ and 16″ cymbals; the Performance Set, adding a 20″ cymbal to the 14″ and 16″; and the Performance Set Plus, rounding out the line with a 14″, 16″, 18″ and 20″ configuration.
