While the DT 70 IE Series, which was introduced at NAMM 2025, offered instrument-specific tuning across multiple models, the DT 30 IE takes a different approach. Engineers tuned the DT 30 IE’s 11 mm dynamic driver for a balanced, neutral response across a 5 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, allowing it to monitor vocals, guitars, click tracks, or a full backing mix effectively.
Passive isolation reaches up to 39 dB, making it suitable for loud rehearsals and venues with inconsistent monitor setups. At 2.7 grams per side, it is lighter and slimmer than most multi-driver alternatives. Six ear tip options in silicone and foam, across three sizes, are also included, along with foam cerumen filters.

beyerdynamic has made a considered effort when it comes to durability. IP54 protection against dust and water splashes, a Kevlar-reinforced detachable cable with MMCX connector, gold-plated contacts and an integrated memory wire to keep the fit locked in. The detachable cable is a handy addition, especially in situations like a cable failure mid-tour. This way, you can swap it rather than writing off the whole unit.
“Too many musicians start with consumer-tuned in-ear monitors that aren’t actually designed for live performance. With the DT 30 IE, we wanted to create a serious professional monitoring tool musicians can rely on from their very first gig,” said Kevin Nietsch, beyerdynamic’s product manager.
