Paul Dempsey has always brought a folk-troubadour approach to his music, and on the soon-to-be released album ‘Strange Loop’ we see him continuing in this vein.
After finishing a sold-out national tour, the Something For Kate frontman is keen to keep up the momentum generated from new single ‘Morningless’. Recorded at Wilco’s ‘The Loft Studio’ by Tom Schick (Wilco & Ryan Adams) and Dempsey himself, the new album is rich with lyrical content and lush in the sweetly layered textures of its sound.
Dempsey is confirming himself as one of our country’s most prolific artist and is feeling confident about Strange Loop stating: “With every new song and each new record you just hope to chisel everything a little cleaner than last time, give some extra dimensions to the stories and also to have as much fun as possible creating all the accompanying noise. I feel completely satisfied that I’ve done that with this record.”
With so much already achieved in his long career, Dempsey’s new album is a consolidation of all his efforts, marking him as one of Australia’s greatest songwriters.
