MOTU launch new M2 and M4 USB C audio interfaces

The new interfaces, which look to compete directly with units from PreSonus, Focusrite and Steinberg, are fitted with USB-C technology and boast ultra-low latency and a dedicated LCD display for level monitoring. Both the M2 and M4 feature ESS Sabre32 Ultra DAC converters, with a maximum sample rate of 192 kHz.

With two XLR/TRS combo inputs on the front panel and a stereo output via TRS/RCA on the back, the MOTU M2 looks to appease the tech-savvy bedroom producer with a range of exciting features, such as individual phantom power swtich, level knob and monitor switch for each input. On the flipside, there’s also MIDI In/Outs via a standard five-pin plug. The coloured LCD display also allows you to monitor your level meters without any hassle, while a headphone jack and oversized level monitor knob let you control the MOTU M2 with ease.

If you’re in need of more inputs, the M4 adds another two inputs to the design of the M2, as well as another pair of outputs on the back. It also adds a dedicated blend control to balance the mix between your live inputs and computer mix, and like the M2, features a full-colour LCD display to monitor the levels of your inputs and outputs.
