Last year, more than 800 cities around the world hosted music celebrations inviting anyone to join in and play some tunes. This year, Australia is getting on board for our very first Make Music Day.
Organised by the Australian Music Association, our celebrations of Make Music Day will see people from all around the nation filtering onto streets and into the community for a free day of music everywhere. The event will celebrate the music-making community, with the AMA inviting partners and event hosts to take part in the festivities.
Participating is easy. Simply find a Make Music Day event to join or start your own within your local community, then register online and download your free toolkit with a selection of ideas to help you make the most of Make Music Day.
The event dates back 35 years to its beginnings in France, where the day is known as Fête De La Musique, and has continued to capture attention around the world to this day. It’s the ideal opportunity to meet likeminded musicians, showcase your talent, and celebrate music within your community.
Join in the celebrations for Make Music Day on Thursday June 21. For more information, visit Make Music Australia.
