APRA AMCOS is showcasing Indigenous songwriters for Reconciliation Week

An Insight Into The Craft Of Songwriting

A specially curated group of Indigenous songwriters are set to delve deep into their songwriting process to recognise Reconciliation Week with this year's Songwriter Speaks sessions.

Promising a "unique opportunity to see and hear how songwriters develop and nurture their craft," this year's APRA AMCOS Reconcilation Week Songwriter Speaks forums are set to feature the likes of celebrated Indigenous artists Nancy Bates, Glenn Skuthorpe, Emily Wurramara, Luke Daniel Peacock and Leah Flanagan, and are set take place across Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Darwin and Orange. All sessions are free to the public, and representatives from APRA AMCOS will be present at all sessions to answer industry queries.

APRA AMCOS' national project follows the songwriting organisation's appointment of four new Indigenous ambassadors, including X-Factor contestant Rochelle Pitt, Adelaide songstress Nancy Bates, Melbourne hip-hop/jazz artist Lady Lash and Eleanor Dixon, an artist from the remote NT community of Marlinja who performs with the critically acclaimed female group Kardajala Kirradara.
