Recorded around the same time as his last album, Ventura acts as another titular homage to .Paak’s native state of California (his last three albums were titled Venice, Malibu and Oxnard after famous So-Cal locales). While details on the new record are still scarce, we can definitely expect more funk-fused soulful rap belters from the multi-talented .Paak and his band The Free Nationals, who were last in Australia two months ago for Falls Festival.
In addition to announcing Ventura, Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals have released dates for their Best Teef In The Game Tour, featuring support from the likes of Thundercat, Mac DeMarco, Earl Sweatshirt, Noname and Jessie Reyez. We’re absolutely seething with jealousy in Australia right now – can somebody please tell .Paak to come back?
Check out the dates below, and as always, tune in to Mixdown for all the latest updates on Ventura.
