AMAZON MUSIC – HEAD OF DIGITAL MUSIC, AUSTRALIA (SYDNEY)

 

Amazon is looking for a general manager with proven experience in establishing and launching media businesses outside the United States to lead their Australian business. In this role you will hire and develop a team to drive the roll-out of Amazon Music. You will work with the Amazon Music team and local in-region Amazon teams to develop a world-class and locally relevant digital music customer experience, and ensure that Amazon is well positioned versus other offerings. You will own the full customer experience, driving adoption of and engagement with our Amazon Music products.

 

Experience/Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or JD preferred.

  • Extensive experience hiring, managing, and developing a team.

  • Experience working with teams across multiple countries.

  • Experience in the Australian Media Industry is strongly preferred

  • The ideal candidate will have experience leading cross-functional organizations including business development, marketing, finance technology, and general management.

  • Extensive international operational experience, including setting up and launching operations across multiple countries in a short period of time.

  • Demonstrated the ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems, including a history of identifying customer needs and inventing new ways to meet those needs.

AMAZON MUSIC  – SENIOR MUSIC CURATOR (SYDNEY)

 

Amazon are also looking for a Senior Programming Manager for Amazon Digital Music, who will be responsible for driving customer engagement through the creation and maintenance of playlists and streaming radio stations and related curatorial tasks crucial to the quality of the Amazon Music customer experience. This leader will set a path toward iteration and improvement by learning about our customers and their behaviour through the collection and analysis of data. This leader will work closely with the Content Acquisition, Marketing, and Site Merchandising teams on customer- and partner-facing initiatives. The Senior Content Programming Manager will also work with Product and Engineering teams to ensure that both internal and external experiences are best-in-class.

 

·       Deliver high quality music programming including playlists and stations

·       Create and manage a rolling editorial calendar

·       Conceive and execute a continuous content improvement process

·       Drive improvements of tools and techniques required to support a growing curated music offering

·       Work with the Content Licensing and Vendor Management teams to identify content to include in the service

·       Use data to continuously refine our content offering to ensure a fresh and compelling user experience for each customer

 

Qualifications required:

·       BS/BA required

·       Five to seven years in work experience in radio programming, A&R, music curation, and/or running an editorial calendar

·       Proven success in delivering results in a fast-paced, rapid-growth environment

·       Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and recommendations

·       Ability to think creatively, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities

·       Ability to set aside one’s own tastes and biases to curate music for a broad audience

Melbourne based Dance Music Label Vicious Recordings are looking for a new Product Co-Ordinator to join the team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Digital product delivery and Meta-Data, and must be able to work across all aspects of the label liaising with A&R, Marketing, Promotions and 3rd Party Distributors.

APRA AMCOS – CAMPAIGN MANAGER – MEMBERSHIP (SYDNEY)

 

APRA AMCOS seeks an experienced marketing & communications specialist to join their Marketing & Events team. The Campaign Manager works closely with the Communications team to develop and implement campaigns to our members, clients, industry and the general public in a creative and engaging way.

The purpose of the role is to consult with the business to create strategic marketing campaigns in conjunction with the Communications team that will deliver the company’s overall marketing strategy in line with the business plan.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Take the lead role in a strong working relationship with the APRA AMCOS Membership team.

  • Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies to support the Membership team’s needs in line with the company business plan.

  • Produce all copy for external communications; including generating stories for our website and regular editions of member newsletters.

  • Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to develop online strategies and monitor digital activities.

  • Work with the Digital Content Producers on design elements for digital and print materials.

  • Work with the Events team on collateral for our Awards series and other events.

  • Work with the Director, Member Relations on promotional activity for member programs.

  • Develop media relationships and actively pursue publicity opportunities.

 

Experience required:

  • Communications/journalism/public relations/marketing degree

  • Five years’ experience in a public relations or marketing role in a complex environment of internal client divisions.

  • Fluency with Microsoft Office suite; understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud suite.

 

Key competencies and personal qualities:

  • Exceptional communication skills, in particular, a flair for writing; and excellent research skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver strategies for marketing and communications campaigns; and strong experience with social media platforms.

120 PUBLISHING – A&R AND ADMINISTRATION COORDINATOR (SYDNEY)

 

120 Publishing are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile A&R and Administration Coordinator to join our team at our Darlinghurst office.  Working in the same building, 120 are the publishing arm of Ministry of Sound Australia.  They focus on creating and facilitating writing collaborations and features whilst also finding placement opportunities for our catalogue in film, game and TV. 120 Publishing looks after the songwriter interests of several artists on the Recordings and Crown Rights roster, and work alongside artist management for career planning and strategy.    

 

The ideal candidate has a knowledge of and interest in all subgenres of dance music, but an understanding of pop, rock and other genres is highly desirable. This role would be perfect for someone who attends gigs and has a genuine interest in dance music, who is also very organised and keen to learn about copyright, royalties and other aspects of Music Publishing.  You will be working with both the General Manager and A&R Manager to provide diligent A&R and copyright administration support for the current publishing catalogue, as well as scouting and developing relationships with other artists and writers for potential new signings.  

 

Responsibilities include:

·       Providing both administration and creative support to the A&R Manager

·       Coordinating pitches, briefs and submissions between our writers and clients

·       Database management

·       Providing assistance with both copyright and royalties

·       Filing and other general administration  

 

This is a part-time role ideally working two-three days per week, but there is a flexibility on what those days are.
