Roland musical instruments and equipment can be heard on numerous #1 hit songs and are seen everywhere from the largest stadiums to beginner garage bands, from music schools/institutions to the best recording studios around the world.
Roland is seeking a full-time Content Creation Specialist (Sydney) to write articles and produce online content. The position requires for someone to write about real-world experiences and applications of musical instruments. Roland need someone that can produce inspiring content that conveys the excitement that comes with playing music. In addition to writing articles for their blogs, you will be required to write and storyboard creative scripts for video content, where many of these would require a narrative. You will interview artists, work with their Product Specialists, talk to the industry influencers and write/script content that can’t be found anywhere else.
The right person will be able to explain complicated technologies in simple terms and clearly articulate the benefits to individual market segments like drummers, guitarists, keyboard players and electronic musicians.
Open to musicians of all levels, you will most likely be a hobbyist who plays at least one instrument – but has a very good all round knowledge of drums, guitar, piano/keys and electronic music. You would probably have made a few recordings or videos as well. It is essential that you are passionate about Roland and Boss gear, and will work hard to ensure your success. The position is based in Dee Why Sydney, and yes, you get to take gear home on loan.
Skills/experience required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A deep understanding of musical instruments and their applications
- A creative flair for copywriting and producing content from a brief
- Ability to write narratives for video scripts, working within budgets
- Work within a team structure
- Edit other people’s content to suit brand consistency
- Understand application-based content around product specifications
- Deep understanding of the different types of content required for different communication channels eg. websites, blogs and social media
- The ability to manage projects and people to a deadline
- A desire to work in an energetic and focused team
- A well organised and structured approach to tasks
- Able to work unsupervised, but meet deadlines
- A love of music

Social Media Content & Community Manager (Music & Entertainment) – Bolster
Bolster Digital is Australia’s premier digital advertising agency for music and entertainment. Their clients are music festivals, labels, tour promoters, cinemas and event companies including the likes of Laneway Festival, Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival and Mushroom Group.
Bolster are currently looking to broaden the services they offer their clients, and are looking for another Social Media Content & Community Manager to work in either their Sydney or Melbourne office.
Key responsibilities
- Devising strong data-driven strategies for social media content
- Implementing content strategies, from creating original content, curating content from other sources, posting with best practices in mind
- Closely monitoring and fostering community engagement via social media channels
- Account management of clients, including day-to-day communication, overall strategy and reporting.
- Responsive crisis management for clients when needed
- Report on content and engagement across different channels, with the ability to pull out patterns and re-focus strategy
Skills/ experience required:
- Minimum 1 year of working across social media channels in a professional capacity for brands and companies, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Snapchat
- Experience with handling large online communities of 5K users and more
- Proven history of managing and building rapport with multiple clients
- Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage your time across campaigns and clients
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with perfect grammar and spelling
- Strong attention to detail
- A love for music, comedy and entertainment, with a good knowledge of local and international acts in these fields

Event Coordinator – Mountain Sounds Festival
The Mountain Sounds Festival is a boutique and sustainable event product of music, art and culture located on the Central Coast of New South Wales. After back-to-back SOLD OUT festivals plus a VERY busy year ahead, Mountain Sounds are looking to expand their team again.
Mountain Sounds are currently on the hunt for an Event Coordinator (Central Coast, NSW). The role will give you unique hands on experience with event planning, site management, staffing, administration, marketing and stakeholder liaison.
Key resposibilities:
- Assisting in the coordination of all projects (including the festival and surrounding events throughout the year) from date confirmation right up to event delivery
- Participating in planning and strategy
- Setting, communicating and maintaining timelines and priorities on every project
- Communicating, maintaining and developing supplier relationships
- Managing operational and administrative functions to ensure specific projects are delivered efficiently
Skills/experience required:
- Central Coast-based applicants are preferred but not essential – must have a driver’s license
- Demonstrated experience in meeting deadlines (ideally in a professional environment)
- Strong project and time management skills with the ability to work independently
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc)
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to network and build effective relationships
- Well presented with a positive personality and attitude
- Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Ability to problem solve; quickly think of alternative solutions and implement them
- Experience in the music and/or events industry is preferred but not essential
