Mixdown Magazine, Australia’s number one destination for musicians and music creators, is seeking an experienced Content Editor for its Melbourne based team to administer content across its web, print and social channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write, source, edit and otherwise produce written and non-written content for Mixdown’s digital and print channels.
- Application of Mixdown’s SEO strategy to all website content.
- Coordinate Mixdown’s social media channels and spearhead strategies to encourage audience engagement and growth.
- Assist with production deadlines for Mixdown’s bi-monthly print magazine across a range of tasks.
- Create and send e-newsletters to subscribers and drive subscriptions through initiatives such as competitions and giveaways.
- Closely working with Mixdown’s commercial team and assisting in seeking out sales leads, engaging with advertisers and conceiving commercial content opportunities.
- Managing the rollout of commercial and branded content across Mixdown’s digital platforms.
As the ideal candidate, you will possess:
- At least one year experience in a professional copywriting or media environment.
- A tertiary qualification in journalism, media, communications, professional writing or a related area is highly desirable.
- Exceptionally strong writing and editing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience using a web based CMS like WordPress or Drupal.
- Experience using all major social media platforms.
- An understanding of the music instrument and professional audio industries.
- The ability to play a music instrument and/or to have music performance or music production experience is highly desirable.
