The iconic British amp maker shrinks its vintage stack design into compact 20-watt units with detachable heads and built-in batteries.
Vox has miniaturised its classic Superbeetle design with two new Micro Superbeetle models, one tailored for guitarists and another designed specifically for audio playback. Both models pack vintage aesthetics and modern features into a compact format that works equally well on a desktop or living room shelf.

The design centres around a detachable amplifier head that can operate independently on battery power. Both models feature a 1.5-inch speaker in the head unit and a 4-inch speaker in the cabinet. When stacked together, the system delivers 20 watts through this two-way speaker configuration. Detach the head, and it becomes a portable speaker running on its internal rechargeable battery. The Guitar model operates at 5 watts in this mode.
Micro Superbeetle Guitar
For guitarists, the Micro Superbeetle Guitar offers three selectable voices: clean, overdrive, and hi-gain. The amp features Vox’s signature Top Boost-voiced EQ with bass and treble controls, plus gain and reverb adjustments. Bluetooth connectivity allows players to stream backing tracks, while a cabinet-emulated headphone output handles silent practice or direct recording.
Micro Superbeetle Audio
The Audio Superbeetle focuses on music playback with three listening modes tailored to different environments. Hi-Fi mode delivers full-range response for standard listening, Background mode reduces presence to avoid interrupting conversations, and Bass Adapt mode compensates for floor or wall placement by adjusting low-frequency output.
Both models capture the trapezoidal head and vertical cabinet silhouette that defined Vox’s 1960s amplifier stacks–the same that powered the Beatles and David Bowie. The miniaturised design maintains that visual appeal with a bunch of practical and flexible features.
