The collection spans 40 Premium Tone Models captured from two distinct eras of this highly regarded circuit. A late-1970s export model brings an open top end, blooming mids and a touch-sensitive response that produces piano-like cleans and smooth vocal overdrive. The 1980 model tightens things up with faster transients and increased articulation at higher gain settings, perfect for the cascading clean-to-overdrive transitions that have defined the sounds of players like Robben Ford, Carlos Santana, John Mayer and Larry Carlton.
Both amps were captured with and without cabinet across multiple mic pairings, channel configurations and gain settings. Rounding things out, the collection includes full rigs built around classic front-end boosts (a gold Klon Centaur, an Ibanez TS10 and a JHS Morning Glory) recreating the stacked combinations these amps are so often paired with for added sustain and midrange focus.
For players after the full package, the TONEX ONE Double Special Limited Edition is the one to watch. Limited to just 1,000 units worldwide and crafted in Italy with a custom vintage-brown finish, it comes preloaded with 20 exclusive Tone Models not available anywhere else.
