The MV88 family, including the MV88+ Video Kit and MoveMic 88+ Wireless Stereo Microphone, has earned a following among mobile journalists and content creators who need professional audio quality on the move. Shure’s latest iteration builds on that foundation with a direct USB-C connection, so there’s no concerns about pairing, wireless range, dropouts, or battery life.

Automated audio handling
Auto Level Mode continuously adjusts gain in real time, ensuring recordings never peak or drop too quiet without manual intervention. The Real-time Denoiser removes unwanted background noise intelligently, delivering clean audio in challenging environments. These features handle the technical side automatically, though manual control remains available for users who prefer hands-on adjustment.
Four selectable polar patterns—adjustable stereo, mono cardioid, mono bi-directional, and raw mid-side—allow the mic to adapt to different recording scenarios, from travel vlogs and interviews to rehearsals and live event documentation.
Customisation through MOTIV apps
Five quick-start presets provide immediate configuration options, whilst the MOTIV Video and MOTIV Audio mobile apps (plus MOTIV Mix on desktop) unlock deeper control. Available adjustments include microphone gain, five-band EQ, limiter, compression, high-pass filter, stereo width adjustment, and real-time noise reduction. This gives creators the ability to shape their sound precisely when needed, without requiring it for basic recording tasks.
“The original MV88 earned a loyal following for its simplicity and sound quality,” said Eduardo Valdes, Associate Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Management at Shure. “With the new MV88 USB-C, we’ve elevated reliable, professional audio. Just connect, and you’re ready to record on the go.”
The MV88 USB-C represents Shure’s continued development of mobile-first recording tools that integrate studio-quality features into portable designs.
