A flat and balanced response is what makes the original sE7 cardioid condensers so widely used. Responding from 20Hz up to 20kHz, the sE7 is a great option for all sources, lending itself particularly well to bright sources like acoustic guitars, drum overheads and other highly detailed instruments. The sE7 sideFire takes all of this and, as the name suggests, fires sideways; the capsule capturing sources at a 90° angle for close miking applications where other mics, instruments and stands might get in the way!
The side address allows the mic to be put right up on a source, with the back of the capsule offering better rejection; think toms, guitar amps, underheads on cymbals and more.
The sE7 sideFire features switchable -20dB attenuation pad and a switchable low-cut 80 Hz filter for treating sound on the way in!
