Seymour Duncan's Custom Shop has built the FLF Model humbucker in collaboration with YouTube metal icon Ryan "Fluff" Bruce, combining coils from the JB Model and Black Winter with an Alnico 4 magnet for a high-output signature sound.
Ryan “Fluff” Bruce is one of YouTube’s most-watched metal guitarists and the force behind Dragged Under. When he couldn’t find everything he needed in a single pickup, he worked with Seymour Duncan’s Custom Shop to build one.

The FLF Model takes a coil from two of Fluff’s favourite Seymour Duncan humbuckers – the JB Model and the Black Winter – and pairs them with an Alnico 4 bar magnet. The Alnico 4 was the piece that pulled it together, giving the pickup the right balance of edge, punch and midrange character Fluff was chasing.
It’s built for drop-tuned rhythm playing, with percussive attack and a throaty midrange, so it can handle heavy riffing without the top end getting harsh. Rolling back the volume brings out a cleaner chime, so there’s more range here than the high-output spec implies. The FLF Model is already in use – it’s the pickup in Fluff’s limited-edition Artist Series StingRay by Ernie Ball/Music Man and the sound behind Dragged Under’s recorded output.
On the collaboration, Ryan “Fluff” Bruce says, “Being able to combine my favourite Seymour Duncan tones into one pickup that works with everything I do is truly a sonic gift!”
Standard spec includes black nickel studs and screws, matte black bobbins, a black Olde English Seymour Duncan logo, short mounting legs and a 4-conductor cable. DCR is 16.6k. Custom cosmetics are available through the Custom Shop.
